Ping G440 LST Driver
The new Ping G440 drivers will appeal to every golfer looking for greater distance and increased forgiveness. By moving the centre of gravity to the furthest position from the clubface ever offered by Ping in a driver, along with a redesigned, thinner face, you can achieve higher ball speeds and more consistent shots. The development process took different swing types into account, so everyone can choose from several models – from the versatile G440 MAX, through the low-spin G440 LST, to the G440 SFT, ideal for players who need to correct a slice. Thanks to a 10-gram reduction in the club’s overall weight and a slightly longer standard shaft length, you can also increase swing speed more effectively and achieve longer, more stable drives.
Three models for different player needs
The foundation of the new Ping G440 driver family is a trio of models: MAX, LST and SFT.
- G440 MAX is the most forgiving version, designed for the majority of golfers – available in 9°, 10.5° and 12° lofts, with a three-position weight at the back of the head.
- G440 LST (Low Spin) suits players with faster swings, where low spin helps produce longer, more controlled shots. It is available in 9° and 10.5° lofts with the same weight system.
- G440 SFT (Straight Flight) is ideal for golfers who struggle with a slice. It features a 23-gram weight that can be set to the Draw and Draw+ positions. It is available in 9° and 10.5° lofts.
Each driver head is designed for different ball-flight characteristics, so you can rely on the perfect balance of distance and accuracy to match your playing style.
Free-Hosel Technology: A new level of efficient design
Removing weight from the hosel area and moving it closer to the heel of the Ping G440 driver made it possible to position the centre of gravity at a record-low level. The result is a higher launch angle, optimal spin and a significant increase in ball speed off the clubface. This innovation, often referred to as Free-Hosel Technology, gives the driver better stability and greater forgiveness on mishits or inaccurate shots.
A slimmer, more flexible clubface
The manufacturer improved the profile of the clubface itself – reducing its height while also making it thinner, resulting in greater flexibility and more energy transfer to the ball. For players, this means higher speed and, above all, more consistent results across the entire face, including the toe and heel areas. In short, even less-than-perfect shots have a better chance of achieving solid distance.
Lower weight and a longer standard shaft
The drive for higher swing speed led to a 10-gram reduction in the overall weight of the Ping G440 driver, while the standard shaft length was increased by 1/4 inch. For example, the standard ALTA CB Blue shaft now measures 46 inches, helping to increase head speed during the swing while maintaining accuracy. The standard length for the other available shafts (e.g. PING Tour 2.0, Project X Denali Red and Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black) is 45.50 inches.
CarbonFly Wrap Crown: Low centre of gravity, pleasant sound
All three Ping G440 driver models share a carbon crown (CarbonFly Wrap Crown), which moves the saved weight into the lower part of the club. This results in an even lower centre of gravity and a higher level of forgiveness. An added benefit is a more muted, pleasant sound at impact, appreciated by players who want a comfortable feel from their shots.
Heavier, adjustable weights for flight-shape control
In the MAX and LST versions, a 29-gram weight allows you to easily fine-tune a fade, draw or neutral setting. The SFT model features a 23-gram weight that moves the centre of gravity into an even more advantageous position for correcting an unwanted slice. This flexibility helps tailor the ball flight to suit your swing technique and the conditions on the course.
Trajectory Tuning 2.0: Loft and lie adjustment
Thanks to the lightweight eight-position hosel, you can instantly fine-tune the loft by ±1.5° and adjust the lie by up to 3° to a flatter position. This feature enables subtle trajectory changes, allowing you to tailor Ping G440 drivers to your swing.
The Ping G440 drivers offer an attractive combination of lower overall weight, a more refined clubface and a repositioned centre of gravity for longer, more stable shots. Whether you choose the G440 MAX, LST or SFT, you can always rely on higher ball speed, ample forgiveness and the ability to customise the flight-path settings. If you are looking for a versatile driver that will give you the extra distance you want along with excellent control, the Ping G440 driver is the right choice.
