Honma offers three specific sole variants that match different short game styles:
I Sole Grind
Light relief on the trailing edge along the entire back edge ensures smooth turf contact during setup and impact. This variant provides full sole performance and is ideal for standard shots with a neutral setup.
C Sole Grind with high bounce
Designed for active work with opening and closing the clubface. Significant relief in the heel and toe areas combined with a flat bounce offers excellent versatility around the green – perfect for lob shots, flop shots, and creative play.
S Sole Grind with low bounce
A wide sole with four-sided relief is designed for play without significant clubface opening. It offers forgiveness from sand and tough lies – ideal for players who prefer simplicity and consistent contact.
