Mizuno ST-X 220 Driver, for men
The ST-X 220 model offers more spin than the ST-Z 220 and is suited to players with slower swing speeds who need help getting the ball to fly farther. The new 20-gram rear weight, positioned closer to the heel, creates a deeper center of gravity for more efficient, longer drives. The ST-X 220 model is also available with an ultralight Helium NanoCore shaft for seniors or women golfers with slower swing speeds.
"For many golfers, the modern low-spin driver design preferred by advanced players is a serious distance killer," says Chris Voshall from Mizuno R&D. "The extra spin, draw bias, and higher ball flight of the ST-X 220 driver will add distance for surprisingly many players."
The ST-X 220 model provides exceptional stability on shots struck away from the center of the face, thanks to a 40% increase in the carbon area on the sole of the head, replacing titanium sections. Mizuno X-Axis construction moves the center of gravity toward the rear and closer to the heel, promoting a higher launch angle and a draw ball flight. The highly flexible SAT2041 Beta Ti face and improved CORTECH technology aerodynamics ensure maximum energy transfer from your swing to the ball.
Mizuno Harmonic Impact Research tuned the sound to produce vibration patterns that elite players associate with a "solid" feel. The optimized Wave Sole heel increases ball speed on shots struck low on the face, while four degrees of loft adjustability allow fine-tuning of the launch angle and trajectory.
