Ping G440 irons

Why higher ball speed and longer shots?
The key to achieving longer and higher shots is the Thinner, Shallower Face. Compared with the previous generation, the face is 9% thinner, which increases flexibility and contributes to greater ball speed across the entire face. At the same time, the iron head is shallower, giving players a better feel when addressing the ball and making it easier to strike the center of the face for an ideal trajectory.

Low center of gravity for stability and forgiveness
The engineers behind the Ping G440 irons have lowered and shifted the center of gravity toward the rear of the head. They reduced approximately 4 grams of weight from the face and then strategically repositioned it lower and farther back (Low CG System, High MOI). The result is greater stability and more forgiveness on off-center hits, helping achieve consistent flight characteristics.

PurFlex Cavity Badge: For greater feel and a solid sound
The innovative PurFlex Cavity Badge increases the flexibility of the rear section of the head, supports the newly designed thinner face, and helps generate higher ball speed. At the same time, it provides a pleasant feel and a muted yet resonant sound at impact. Every golfer can therefore enjoy a club that offers excellent feedback while forgiving mishits.

Elegant appearance and players’ feel
The Ping G440 irons feature chrome elements on the back of the head and inside the PurFlex badge, creating a premium, modern design. A slightly shorter blade length, a more subtle topline, and a shallow face give these irons an appearance close to players’ models, while forgiveness remains at the level of game-improvement clubs.

Better gapping and redesigned shafts
Extending the 4, 5, and 6 irons by 1/8 inch makes it possible to achieve higher swing speed, helping produce a higher launch angle with the longer irons. This ensures smooth gaps between the individual irons and improves distance consistency. The number of wedges has also been reduced from five to four (PW, UW, 52°, 56°), with the lofts adjusted to simplify club selection and cover a wide range of situations on and around the green. The new 56-degree wedge builds on the legendary EYE2 profile, proven effective from the sand.

Innovative AWT 3.0 shafts (Regular, Stiff, X-Stiff) also provide greater versatility. Thanks to their nonlinear weight distribution, the longer irons feature lighter shafts to help generate higher speed, while the shafts gradually become heavier in the shorter irons, enabling players to achieve better control and greater accuracy on approach shots.
