Ping i240, sporting golf irons
Forgiveness with feeling
Thanks to the lightweight internal reinforcement and elastomer insert, the irons have a softer and more precise contact with the ball. At the same time, the saved weight shifts to perimeter weighting, which increases the moment of inertia (MOI) – that is, the club’s stability on off-center hits. The result? Greater forgiveness without compromises in control.
Longer distance and higher trajectory
Ping engineers lowered the center of gravity (CG), resulting in a higher launch angle and more carry distance – players can thus more easily stop the ball near the hole. This feature is especially important for longer irons.
Traditional cavity-back construction
The classic cavity behind the impact face allows even distribution of weight to the edges of the head. This significantly increases stability in long and mid irons, while the clubs still maintain a clean, player-like appearance.
Design preferred by athletic players
A more compact head shape, shorter blade, and thin topline bring confidence when addressing the ball and provide better control over trajectory and distance.
Grooves proven on Tour
Wider spacing between grooves increases spin on fairway shots, appreciated by players who value repeatability and predictability of shots – a key factor when playing to the green.
Smooth turf interaction
The sole with a rounded leading edge and sufficient bounce angle helps clean contact with the ball even in tougher conditions. Added weight in the toe and shaft tip helps fine-tune the optimal swingweight of each club.
Premium shaft as standard
The Ping i240 comes equipped with the Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 115 shaft, which offers a medium trajectory and spin, excellent feedback, and accuracy within a narrow range – ideal for experienced players seeking stability and predictability in every shot.
