TaylorMade MG5 Chrome, wedge
TaylorMade MG5 wedges represent the pinnacle of modern wedge design and were developed based on feedback from the world’s best players. Every detail is designed to give golfers maximum confidence and control when playing from the rough, sand, or fairway.
The impact area is fully forged from soft carbon steel, ensuring an exceptionally soft feel at impact and precise feedback. This is particularly appreciated by players who demand consistent feel around the green and want absolute control over the ball.
The MG5 uses new Spin Tread technology and a RAW impact-area finish, which work similarly to tire tread by channeling away moisture and increasing friction between the face and the golf ball. This allows golfers to maintain high spin even in challenging, wet conditions.
Completely new, precision-milled grooves with steeper walls and sharper edges are manufactured to extremely tight tolerances. The result is maximum spin and control on every type of shot—from short pitches to high flop shots.
The MG5 offers six different grinds designed to suit a wide range of swings and playing conditions. This allows every golfer to build an optimal wedge set that matches their playing style.
Each sole is precision milled, eliminating the human imprecision associated with hand finishing. This ensures consistent performance and reliability across every model.
Which GRIND should you choose?
-
SB - A versatile sole suitable for firm, normal, and soft turf. A great choice for all swing types—shallow, neutral, and steep. The subtle four-way sole camber ensures smooth turf interaction and offers high forgiveness.
- LB - Designed for golfers who want the leading edge to sit low to the ground with various address options (opening/closing the face). Ideal for a shallow swing (minimal or no divot) and play on hard, firm surfaces.
