TaylorMade MG5 Chrome, pitching wedge
The TaylorMade MG5 wedge represents the pinnacle among modern wedges and was developed based on feedback from the world’s top players. Every detail is designed to give the player maximum confidence and control when playing from rough, sand, and fairway.
The striking face is fully forged from soft carbon steel, which ensures an exceptionally smooth feel on impact and precise feedback. This is especially appreciated by players who require consistent touch in the short game and want absolute control over the ball.
MG5 uses new Spin Tread technology and a RAW surface on the striking face, which work similarly to tire treads – they channel away moisture and increase friction between the face and the golf ball. Thanks to this, the player maintains high ball spin even in challenging, damp conditions.
Completely new, milled grooves with steeper walls and sharper edges are made with extremely precise tolerances. The result is maximum spin and control on all types of shots – from short pitches to high flop shots.
MG5 offers six different grinds, designed to suit a wide range of swings and playing conditions. This allows every player to assemble an optimal wedge set that matches their style of play.
Each sole is precisely milled, eliminating human error from manual finishing. This guarantees consistent performance and reliability in every model.
Which GRIND to choose?
-
SB – A universal sole suitable for hard, normal, and soft surfaces. A great choice for all swing types – shallow, neutral, and steep. The gentle four-way sole curvature ensures smooth passage through the turf and offers high forgiveness.
- LB – Designed for golfers who want the leading edge of the club to sit low to the ground with various face angle options (open/closed). Ideal for a shallow swing (minimal or no divot) and play on hard, firm surfaces.
