The main goal in developing the Ping G730, the longest and most forgiving irons, was to maximize distance and make it easier to hit. The G730 are not just about distance; they are primarily about ease – easy achievement of the ideal trajectory and high forgiveness on off-center hits. All of this helps recreational players enjoy more successful shots and gradually improve their scores.

The Ping G730 are for players who play regularly but hardly practice. When they find time for golf, they want to spend it on the course, not on the mat. They prefer clubs with high forgiveness for easy striking. They are not planning to shape shots, and the main goal is to get the ball easily into the air and, if possible, into the hole without major complications.

Extreme forgiveness
Larger head, greater offset, and wider sole in a cast stainless steel construction increase the moment of inertia (MOI), thereby improving forgiveness and stability.

Performance of the entire set
The G730 irons are available in 5 to 9 and wedges PW, UW, 50°, and 56°. These four wedges have a modified impact face and grooves for better control and consistent results in all conditions.

Lofts optimized for ideal distance gaps
Custom-designed lofts help increase distance while optimizing spacing. The option to choose lofts with power (stronger/lower lofts) and retro (weaker/higher lofts) specifications allows fitters to further optimize performance. A tungsten screw at the tip and weighting in the hosel allow fine-tuning of swing weight.

Better flex of the impact face
Thanks to the use of 17-4 stainless steel and heat treatment, it was possible to thin the impact face and optimize its overall structure. Together with the low center of gravity, the result is easier achievement of ideal trajectory, higher ball speed, and less distance loss on off-center hits.
