Mizuno ST Max 230 Driver
Low profile and wide sole
At first glance, the ST-MAX 230 appears larger than its official 460cc volume would suggest. Thanks to its wider sole and low profile, the driver achieves an extremely high MOI (moment of inertia). This means it remains forgiving on less precise off-center hits and minimizes clubhead twisting at impact. The result is a straighter, more predictable ball flight with a consistent launch angle across the entire face.
CORTECH Chamber
At the heart of the ST-MAX 230 driver’s technology is an enhanced CORTECH Chamber—a dense stainless-steel element filled with TPU elastomer that “takes” stress off the face while returning energy to the ball. In the ST-MAX 230, this chamber is extended and positioned closer to the clubface, increasing effective speed across an even larger area of the face. As a result, the driver is highly forgiving across different impact locations and delivers high ball speed even on contact away from the ideal center.
New Beta Rich Ti LFS Face
The Beta Rich Ti LFS material is 9% stronger in tensile strength than the previous-generation SAT2041, allowing for a more complex multilayer face construction. This lighter, more durable titanium not only increases ball speed on well-struck shots, but also contributes to greater consistency in launch, even on mishits. This technology was first introduced in the Mizuno Tour driver ST-G 440cc and is now also featured in the ST-MAX 230.
Maximum stability
Thanks to the massive 54 g weight in the rear of the clubhead and a 40% greater proportion of graphite composite, the ST-MAX 230 offers extreme stability at impact. This effectively minimizes clubhead twisting even on off-center hits, helping the driver keep the ball on its intended trajectory with less shot dispersion.
Longer shaft (45 ¾ inches)
Another key to higher swing speeds is the longer shaft. Thanks to the improved stability of the clubhead, Mizuno was able to extend the driver without compromising control. In practice, this gives you a faster swing and the potential for longer drives without sacrificing control and accuracy.
Quick Switch Hosel
The ST-MAX 230 features a quick lie and loft adjustment system with a range of 4 degrees. This allows you to easily fine-tune the ball flight and launch angle to achieve the optimal combination of distance and accuracy for your individual swing.
