Mizuno ST-X 220 Driver, for men
The ST-X 220 produces more spin than the ST-Z 220 and is suited to players with slower swing speeds who need help achieving a longer ball flight. A new 20-gram rear weight, moved closer to the heel, creates a deeper centre of gravity for more efficient and longer drives. The ST-X 220 is also available with an ultra-lightweight Helium NanoCore shaft for seniors or women golfers with slower swing speeds.
"For many golfers, the modern low-spin driver design preferred by better players is a serious distance killer," says Chris Voshall of Mizuno R&D. "The extra spin, draw bias and higher launch of the ST-X 220 driver will add surprisingly more distance for many players."
The ST-X 220 provides exceptional stability on off-centre strikes, thanks to a 40% increase in the carbon area on the sole of the head at the expense of titanium areas. Mizuno’s X-Axis construction moves the centre of gravity towards the rear and closer to the heel, promoting a higher launch angle and a draw-biased ball flight. The high flexibility of the SAT2041 Beta Ti clubface and improved aerodynamics through CORTECH technology ensure maximum energy transfer from your swing to the ball.
Mizuno Harmonic Impact Research tuned the sound to produce vibration patterns that elite players associate with a "solid" feel. The optimised Wave Sole heel increases ball speed on low-face strikes, while four degrees of loft adjustability allow fine-tuning of the launch angle and trajectory.
